The iPhone battery icon is a great way to estimate how much power you have left, but there are some instances when you need to know the exact level of remaining power. You might have noticed that your iPhone 11 doesn’t show the battery percentage in the status bar.
iPhone X, 11, and 12 models all have a notch which means there’s not enough room in the status bar for the battery percentage. Thankfully, there are some shortcuts and widgets that will make it easy to find or display this information at all times.
There wasn’t a way to permanently see the battery level on modern iPhones until iOS 14. Let’s explore how to get a quick check on your phone’s battery level.
How to Show Battery Percentage on iPhone 11
The battery percentage on the iPhone can be found in a few different places. On the iPhone 11, one of the easiest ways to find a phone’s remaining battery is to activate Control Center. To find it, simply swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen. It should be sitting in the top-right corner of the screen.
Another way to access the battery widget is by swiping from left-to-right on your Home screen; this will bring up Today View. This view is a useful way to get information about your phone.
With iOS 14, it contains widgets such as a battery widget that displays the current percentage. You may need to scroll down in order to find the battery widget, but you can tap and hold it and then drag it to the top so it is more visible.
To see the battery percentage on your iPhone’s Home Screen, you need to add the ‘Batteries’ widget.
You can find this by tapping and holding any blank space on the Home screen for a few seconds, then tapping the + icon in the top-left. This will bring up a menu where you can scroll down until you find the Batteries widget.
You can choose from three different battery widgets. They all show the same information, but the larger ones will also display how much battery your synced devices have, such as a watch or AirPods, for example.
Add your favorite widget to your home screen and rearrange it as you see fit. If you’re a battery-saving fiend, this widget will show you how much battery life is remaining. It’s easy to set up, and it’ll let you know what percentage of battery life is left with just a quick glance.
Plug It In
This might not be the best way, but it will work: plug your iPhone into a power outlet. When you plug in your iPhone, it will tell you the battery percentage on-screen. It will keep doing so every time you wake up your iPhone until you unplug it from power.
